Potential Future Regulation Addressing Pyrolysis and Gasification Units
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is soliciting information and requesting comments to assist in the potential development of regulations for pyrolysis and gasification units that are used to convert solid or semi-solid feedstocks to useful products such as energy, fuels and chemical commodities. New Organic Waste to Hydrogen Project in California
Raven SR, Inc. has teamed with Republic Services, Inc. to convert organic waste into hydrogen at a site in Richmond, California. Raven SR will process up to 100 tons of organic waste per day at Republic Services' West Contra Costa Sanitary Landfill and produce up to 2,000 metric-tons per year of renewable hydrogen as well as electricity for its operations. Utah Company Turns Food Waste into Energy
Wasatch Resource Recovery located in North Salt Lake City, Utah is converting food waste into renewable natural gas (RNG) and fertilizer. The facility currently processes 300 tons of food waste a day using two anaerobic digestors. For more information, click here.
