Morris Dam Access Road and San Gabriel Dam Outlet Channel Rehabilitation Project

  • Project Scope:
    The project will include reconstructing the lower access road and entrance swing gate to the dam, replace walkways and staircases of the west abutment drainage gallery, and other essential maintenance repairs at Morris Dam and repairing the outlet channel invert at San Gabriel Dam.
  • Project Benefits:
    The project will improve access at the dam and enhance the facility's operational reliability, safety, and efficiency in stormwater management.
  • Community Engagement:
    Meetings have been held with local stakeholders. Outreach will include notifications to other agencies who utilize the access road.

    Angeles National Forest - North of the City of Azusa on San Gabriel Canyon Road
  • Cost Estimate:
    - Total Project: $3,100,000 - Construction: $2,500,000
  • Economic Impact:
    Project construction supports direct and indirect jobs.

    - Final Plans – Feb 2022
    - Advertise for Construction Bids – Jun 2022
    - Start of Construction – Dec 2023
