Colima Rd - City of Whittier Boundary to Fullerton Rd

  • Project Scope:
    The primary objective of this project is to reduce traffic congestion along Colima Road within the project limits. - Pavement preservation - Road widening - New bike lanes - Landscape improvements - Traffic signal improvements
  • Project Benefits:
    The implementation of this project will reduce traffic congestion and improve regional mobility for automobiles, transit buses, and bicyclists.
  • Community Engagement:
    A community meeting was held in Hacienda Heights on March 20, 2022 and another meeting was held in Rowland Heights on May 8, 2022. Two other meetings were held in Rowland Heights and Hacienda Heights, on February 12, 2024 and April 15, 2024, respectively. A project information flyer and a construction brochure will be provided just after the project has been awarded and a week prior to start of construction, respectively.

    Unincorporated County communities of Hacienda Heights and Rowland Heights; City of Industry.
  • Cost Estimate:
    - Total Project: $40,800,000 - Construction: $28,754,729.10 - Grant Funds: $4,422,500 (Funded by Metro)
  • Economic Impact:
    Project construction supports 215 direct and indirect jobs.
  • Schedule:
    - Advertise for Construction – Apr 2024
    - Start of Construction – May 2025
    - End of Construction – Jun 2028
