East Los Angeles Community Roadway Improvement

  • Project Scope:
    The primary objective of this project is to improve 2.5 miles of roadway on Whittier Boulevard and 2.1 miles of roadway on Olympic Boulevard. - Parkway improvements - Sidewalk repair - Curb ramp reconstruction - Pavement resurfacing - Traffic signal upgrades
  • Project Benefits:
    Improves quality of life for residents and lessens wear and tear on vehicles. Also reduces delay experienced by motorists, which helps improve safety and reduce fuel consumption and emissions.
  • Community Engagement:
    Nighttime paving operations started on July 22 on Whittier Boulevard. This work will require nighttime closure of lanes on Whittier Boulevard. Pedestrian access will be limited. Please prepare an alternate route to avoid this temporary closure. A virtual meeting for Olympic Boulevard nighttime paving will be held on Aug 7, 2024, 06:00 PM Pacific Time.
