Michillinda Avenue Intersection Improvements Project

Project Scope:- Roadway rehabilitation of Michillinda Avenue between Foothill Boulevard and Colorado Boulevard. - Extension of the northbound left-turn pocket on Michillinda Avenue to Foothill Boulevard. - Extension of the southbound left-turn pocket on Michillinda Avenue to Colorado Boulevard. - Installation of crosswalks and sidewalk enhancements. - Upgraded traffic signals and pedestrian push buttons with audio & vibration devices.

Project Benefits:The project will increase capacity, reduce congestion, and improve mobility by extending the left-turn pocket at the Michillinda Avenue and Foothill Boulevard northbound intersection and at the Michillinda Avenue and Colorado Boulevard southbound intersection.

Community Engagement:A project flyer was sent out in April 2024 introducing the project to the community. An inperson community meeting will be held July 2024. A project information flyer and a pre-construction brochure will be provided just after the project has been awarded and three weeks prior to start of construction, respectively.

Project Location:Michillinda Avenue between Foothill Boulevard and Colorado Boulevard in unincorporated East Pasadena.

Cost Estimate:- Total Project: $3,500,000 - Construction: $1,900,000 - Grant Funds: $907,300 (Partially Funded by Metro)

Economic Impact:Project construction supports 19 direct and indirect jobs.
