• Project Scope:
  The primary objective of this project is to resurface 1.9 miles of major roadway. The project includes the following proposed work: - Parkway improvements - Curb ramp upgrades - Pavement resurfacing
• Project Benefits:
  This project will reduce road noise for residents and lessen wear and tear on vehicles. This project will also help to preserve natural resources by using recycled and in-place materials, resulting in cost savings and reduction in greenhouse gas, energy, and landfill deposition.
• Community Engagement:
  A project information flyer and a construction brochure were distributed to the community. A community liaison continues to provide ongoing information as she works daily to keep the community aware of the construction.
• Project Location:
  Cesar E. Chavez Avenue between Indiana Street and Vancouver Street within the Unincorporated Community of East Los Angeles and the City of Monterey Park.
• Cost Estimate:
  - Total Project: $7,000,000 - Construction: $4,700,000
• Economic Impact:
  Project construction supports 30 direct and indirect jobs.
• Schedule:
  - Final Plans – Oct 2022
  - Advertise for Construction Bids – Jun 2023
  - Start of Construction – Mar 2024
