Malibu Canyon Road North of MM 2-32

  • Project Scope:
    The objective of this project is to install approximately 1240 feet of guardrail on Malibu Canyon Road approximately 1 mile north of Francisco Ranch Road.
  • Project Benefits:
    A guardrail is a highway feature that is designed primarily to reduce the severity of a run-off road type collision. It may also redirect an errant vehicle and dissipate energy from a collision in some cases. It may reduce collision severity for a motorist in situations where it is determined that striking the guardrail is less severe than running off the road onto a steep embankment.

    None.

    Malibu Canyon Road approximately 1 mile north of Francisco Ranch Road in Supervisorial District 3.
  • Cost Estimate:
    Total Project Budget: $1,850,000
  • Economic Impact:
    Project construction supports direct and indirect jobs.
  • Schedule:
    - Advertise for Construction – Apr 2024
    - Start of Construction – Jun 2025
    - End of Construction – Nov 2025
