
El Segundo Boulevard TSSP - Illinois Street to Vermont Avenue

Project Scope:The primary objective of the El Segundo Boulevard Traffic Signal Synchronization Project, from Illinois Street to Vermont Avenue, is to improve the movement of vehicles and decrease the amount of time motorists will be stopping at red traffic signals. The project will o Upgrade 12 traffic signals. o Timing and signal improvements. o Place vehicle detectors in the pavement to detect the presence of vehicles including pedestrian enhancements. o Synchronize traffic signals along the route by coordinating and adjusting the timing of signals between successive intersections.

Project Benefits:This project will significantly reduce delays and accidents, thereby alleviating motorist frustration, air pollution and operational costs.

Community Engagement:A communication plan has been developed to identify and contact businesses, residences, local organizations, and local public agencies through mailers, social media, email, and / or community meetings, both before and after the start of construction.

Project Location:Community of Del Aire and Wiseburn, the City of Hawthorne, the City of El Segundo, and Gardena.

Cost Estimate:- Total Project: $2,000,000 - Construction: $400,000

Economic Impact:Project construction supports 14.88 direct and indirect jobs.
