Project Scope:The primary objective of the Whittier Boulevard Transit Signal Priority Project is to reduce delay of transit services and improve the operation of Metro ExpressLane buses. The project will: o Upgrade controller cabinets at 23 intersections in order to remoted control traffic signal cabinets from the County PW Traffic Management Center o Deploy detection, network, and communication equipment at up to 19 signalized intersections o Adjust signal timing for bus signal priority

Project Benefits:The BSP project will improve transit operations, reducing delayed bus service, thereby alleviating patron frustration, air pollution and operational costs.
