Project Scope:

The Project would involve improvements to the existing facility, including deepening and combining the basins, removing low permeable clay layers, installing new perimeter fencing, and construction of new a bike path along the Pacoima Wash south of Arleta Ave.

Project Benefits:

The Project will provide water conservation benefits by increasing storage capacity from 530 to 1,197 acre-feet (AF) and increased percolation rate from 65 to 142 cubic feet per second, which will result in an estimated additional 10,500 AF of water conserved per year, providing enough water for 84,000 residents annually.

Community Engagement:

The project has been coordinated with Supervisorial District 3 and Council Districts 6, 7, and 12. Two public meetings were held during the California Environmental Quality Act process in January 2016 and November 2018.
