In 2017, Public Works' Environmental Program Division received the Comission Certificate of Recognition from
the County of Los Angeles Quality and Productivity Commission for the
Solid Waste Automated Billing System (SWABS). This award recognizes the hard work and dedication of County employees.

In 2016, Public Works' Environmental Program Division received the 2016 Challenge Award for Best Practices from the
California State Association of Counties (CSAC) for the Roadmap to a Sustainable Waste
Management Future Project. This award recognizes the innovative and creative spirit of California county governments as they find innovative, effective and cost-saving ways to provide
programs and services to their citizens.

In 2016, Public Works' Environmental Program Division, in collaboration with the Los Angeles Dodgers, received the 2016 Green Leadership Award from the
Los Angeles County Public Works for the Strike Out Landfill Waste Project. This
award recognizes the efforts of residents, businesses, nonprofit organizations, community groups and cities who develop and employ innovative strategies and initiatives to enhance our environmental
sustainability.
