How do I dispose used syringes and needles?

Answer:
Syringes and needles, also known as sharps should not be throw in your regular trash, recycle, or green waste container. Instead they should be taken to any of the County's designated sharps collection sites for proper disposal:

1. Free County mobile Household Hazardous Waste Collection events
2. Antelope Valley Environmental Collection Center (AVECC)
3. City of Los Angeles' Permanent S.A.F.E. Centers
4. Los Angeles County Public Health clinics
5. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Stations

Also please advise, some hospitals or pharmacies offer sharps collection and disposal for patients. Please contact your local healthcare facility to inquire.
