Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Question:
A traffic sign on our street has been defaced with graffiti. I tried to clean it off but was not successful. Can it be cleaned or replaced?

Answer:
Often a sign is damged by a previous and incorrect attempt to clean the sign. It then becomes necessary to replace the sign. Although we appreciate the community's assistance, we believe that we have the proper materials and experience to best remove graffiti. We would appreciate having all incidents of graffiti on signs being reported directly to the Department of Public Works via our FAQ system or by contacting our Graffiti Hotline at (800) 675-4357.
