- Some service areas of the County have posted signs which designate the no-parking hours for street sweeping, while other service areas do not have posted signs, but do have a designated street sweeping day. Please move your vehicles and other obstacles off the street during the street sweeping hours. This helps to ensure that the street sweeping operation can be performed more effectively and efficiently. The entire street can be swept when there are no obstacles in the way and the street sweeper does not have to weave in between parked vehicles, thereby missing any dirt and debris between the vehicles and the curb.
- Trees that are too low or vegetation that is overgrown may prevent the street sweeper from properly cleaning your street and should be trimmed, if privately owned. Also, basketball hoops and refuse containers should be moved away from the curb on sweeping day.
- Sweep up leaves for disposal of properly. Street sweepers cannot pick up large mounds of leaves in the street. They are forced to drive around them and portions of the street remain unclean. Pick up grass clippings for mulching, composting, or disposal as clean green waste. Please do not sweep grass litter into the street.
- Please adhere to parking restrictions posted in your community and park your car off the street during these posted times. Sweeping around cars requires more time, makes for a less effective operation, and is a dangerous maneuver.
- Keep your landscaping pruned back far enough to allow sweepers to sweep against the curb.
- Keep tree branches pruned to a height of 16 feet above the street to allow safe passage of sweeper.
- Private streets are not be swept by the County.
