                      PROGRAM TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1.	Only customers of District Nos. 21 (Kagel Canyon), 37 (Acton) and 40 (Antelope Valley) are eligible for this program.  Customers of District Nos. 29 (Malibu) and 36 (Val Verde) and Marina Del Rey Water System are eligible for rebates through other agencies, please refer to the main Cash for Grass Rebate Program page.

2.	Program funding is limited.  Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-serve basis while funding is available. 

3.	Rebate amounts are based on area totals that are measured and calculated by District staff.  For landscape conversion projects to be completed by a professional landscape contractor, customers are responsible for validating contractor measurements.  

4.	Pre-approval must be obtained prior to removing grass and beginning the landscape conversion project.  Projects that have been started or already completed prior to pre-approval are NOT eligible. 

5.	Grass areas to be converted should be living and maintained. 

6.	A minimum of 500 square feet up to a maximum of 5,000 square feet of grass should be converted.  Landscape conversion projects less than 500 square feet will not receive a rebate. 

7.	The converted area should be permeable to air and water.  Areas with natural dirt/earth and without a groundcover are not eligible for a rebate.  Eligible water efficient landscape includes, but is not limited to native or drought-tolerant plants, mulch, rock, un-grouted stepping stone, and permeable hardscape. 

8.	Areas converted to artificial turf and paved concrete are not eligible for a rebate and will not be funded.  

9.	Converted area requires a minimum of 25% water-efficient plant coverage at plant maturity (within 2 years).

10.	Spray irrigation is not permitted in the converted area.  Eligible irrigation systems include, but are not limited to drip irrigation, subterranean irrigation, bubbler, point irrigation and microspray. 

11.	Water conservation rebate payments are taxable Federal income.  Customers are required to provide tax identification information prior to receiving their rebate. 

12.	Computer, internet and email access are required to participate in this program.
