Vanguard Facility Turns Expired Food and Beverages into Energy
In December 2020, Vanguard opened an organic waste recycling facility in Massachusetts to depackage and process expired goods and beverages. After depackaging, the organic waste is delivered to the company's farm-powered anaerobic digesters where the material is converted into biogas. The biogas is then cleaned to produce renewable natural gas, compressed natural gas, or electricity. For more information, click here.
