SoCalGas Files Application to Develop RNG Pilot Project
Southern California Gas Co. (SoCalGas) has filed an application with the California Public Utilities Commission to support the development of a pilot project that would turn organic waste into renewable natural gas (RNG). The project would be developed by San Joaquin Renewables LLC in the City of McFarland, California. If approved, the project is planned to come online in late 2026. For more information, click here.

 True North Renewable Energy, LLC Was Successful in Obtaining a Conditional Use Permit with the Kern County Board of Supervisors to Construct a Large-Scale Anaerobic Digestion Facility
True North Renewable Energy, LLC was successful in obtaining a Conditional Use Permit with the Kern County Board of Supervisors to construct a large-scale anaerobic digestion facility. The facility will have biogas upgrading capacity to inject pipeline grade renewable natural gas and will also have on-site composting operations. This facility will process 300,000 tons per year of organic material. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2024 and the facility is expected to be operational by 2027.
