Anaergia Technologies LLC Enhances MSU's South Campus Anaerobic Digester
Anaergia Technologies LLC has signed agreements to upgrade the South Campus Anaerobic Digester (SCAD) at Michigan State University (MSU), one of the largest anaerobic digesters at a U.S. university. The upgrades will enable MSU to increase its electrical output beyond the current 380 kilowatts, which already powers multiple campus buildings, while also helping to manage the additional animal waste generated by the new dairy cattle teaching and research center. Anaergia's two-phase SCAD upgrade project will enhance MSU's capacity to convert food waste from campus dining halls, manure from MSU's dairy farm, and food processing waste from the local community into energy. Kore Infrastructure: Transforming Biomass for Clean Energy and Wildfire Prevention
Kore Infrastructure aims to demonstrate that converting biomass into clean energy can benefit both energy production and wildfire prevention. Their high-heat pyrolysis process transforms agricultural waste and dead trees into carbon-negative hydrogen, renewable natural gas, and biogas, while also diverting waste from landfills. The company's modular pyrolysis plants require only an acre of land, which lowers operational costs and makes them suitable for forest settings. Kore believes that the tech industry's growing demand for clean energy will accelerate the adoption of sustainable solutions like pyrolysis, helping to meet the energy needs of the artificial intelligence (AI) sector while also mitigating wildfire risks.
