What were the steps included in the update
The FMP update process began in January 2024. The draft FMP is anticipated to be completed by Spring 2026. The process will include the following:
- Creating the FMP Committee
- Conducting FMP Committee Meetings to guide the FMP’s development
- Modeling FEMA’s Hazus Program using the County’s information
- Evaluating the flood hazards
- Developing mitigation measures
- Conducting public meetings to inform the public and solicit its input
- Adopting the FMP by the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors
