Letter of Map Change(LOMC)is a general term used to refer to the several types of revisions and amendments to
Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) published by the
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
LOMCs include
Letter of Map Amendment (LOMA),
Letter of Map Revision (LOMR), and
Letter of Map Revision based on Fill (LOMR-F).
Proposed improvements located within a flood hazard are required to submit a LOMC application to FEMA for review and approval. LOMC applications and associated
FEMA approvals are typical conditions for our Department's permit issuance and plan approvals.
LOMC application submittals must be coordinated with the assigned Department plan checker or permit technician.
Forms and instructions of various LOMC applications are available for
download. Please consult with a qualified licensed professional in selecting the appropriate forms.
We recommend searching our
LOMC database to verify if a FEMA approved request exists prior to obtaining the services of a licensed professional. You may also call (626) 458-4321 or visit
