Building a Resourceful LA County

Summer Institute

Our two-day Summer Institute Workshop took place on July 20 and 21, 2022 at the Audubon Center at Debs Park. We were joined by educators from all over Los Angeles County as we explored local environmental issues, sustainable waste and water management solutions and resources to facilitate meaningful environmental projects. Those who attended were connected with our staff experts for personalized project support. Together, we enjoyed presentations from teachers highlighting amazing Generation Earth projects from the past year. We journeyed to the Huntington Botanical Gardens for an exclusive field trip where we learned about some crucial water-saving techniques. Our resource fair was a huge success with a wide variety of environmental and educational organizations. We also gave away plenty of eco-friendly Generation Earth swag and raffled off a rain barrel and compost bin!

Check out this teacher’s testimonial: "You all helped me to feel reenergized, reinspired and rewarded with the wonderful space in which I could hear speakers and dialogue with individuals who truly care about nature, our precious resources, and Earth's ecosystems."
