East LA Civic Center Station

The Metro Active Transport (MAT)

Help Make Getting to and from the East LA Civic Center Station…without a car…easier and safer!

The Metro Active Transport (MAT) project for the East LA Civic Center Station aims to increase safety and ease of walking and biking within a half-mile radius of the East LA Civic Station. The MAT Program promotes the use of active modes of transportation, such as walking or using wheeled modes like biking, scooters or wheelchairs, and enhances pedestrian and bicycle safety. For more information on the MAT program, visit https://www.metro.net/about/metro-active-transport-transit-and-first-last-mile-program/

The project will develop a prioritized list of core active transportation infrastructure, such as improved sidewalks; high visibility crosswalks; bicycle lanes/paths; pedestrian/bike signal improvements; signage, based on community priorities and needs, to help prioritize projects for implementation.
