Project Summary
Los Angeles County residents deserve access to state-of-the-art transportation infrastructure that is safe, resilient, sustainable, and equitable. The County is investing in enhancing the quality of life in the unincorporated community of East Los Angeles by improving roadways along Whittier Boulevard and Olympic Boulevard.
Working collaboratively with the Whittier and Olympic communities, Los Angeles County Public Works is dedicated to completing this comprehensive street improvement project that encompasses pavement resurfacing, sidewalk repairs, traffic signal upgrades, and more, across several miles of both major thoroughfares. These enhancements are designed to reduce wear and tear on vehicles, improve traffic flow in the area, and create a safer, more comfortable experience for pedestrians and motorists.
In response to feedback from residents and businesses, Public Works has adopted a more proactive approach to community engagement, making sure that local concerns are heard and addressed. By prioritizing communication and transparency, the project team is committed to incorporating community feedback into the construction process, making necessary adjustments to minimize disruptions, and delivering a project that meets the community’s needs.
Understanding the importance of local businesses, LA County Public Works is focused on minimizing disruptions to daily operations. Based on community suggestions, pavement activities will be limited to nighttime hours and paused during the holiday season to minimize any impact on patrons. Concrete work will be done during daytime hours.
We encourage residents and business owners to share concerns or feedback with our designated representatives listed at the bottom of this page. Your input is invaluable, and we are dedicated to addressing issues that may arise during the project’s development. By collaborating, we can ensure a successful outcome that benefits the entire community.
