Naples Island - LA County Public Works

Naples island pump station

Naples Island

Program Summary

Los Angeles County Flood Control District’s (LACFCD) mission is to construct, operate, and maintain an advanced system for flood protection and water conservation, while improving water quality and maximizing habitat, open space and recreational opportunities. LACFCD maintenance crews have maintained and operated critical flood control facilities in the Naples Island community for the last 60 years. In addition to the Belmont Shore Pump Station, which was rehabilitated in 2021, seven additional pump stations in the area are near the end of useful life and need upgrades.

Los Angeles County Public Works is working to minimize the impacts to the community and will rehabilitate seven pump stations under four projects. This will allow for better coordination of work activities, reduced parking impacts, and accelerated construction schedules. These repair and rehabilitation projects will take place over the next four years to allow for 30 additional years of uninterrupted service to the Naples Island community.

We encourage residents and business owners to share concerns or feedback with our designated representatives listed at the bottom of this page. Your input is invaluable, and we are dedicated to addressing issues that may arise during the project’s development.
