Local Transportation – Partnerships

Antelope Valley

Antelop Valley Bus Image

Commuter, local fixed-route, and Senior & Disabled Transportation Services in the Antelope Valley are currently administered by the Antelope Valley Transit Authority (AVTA), which was formed through a Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) between the County and the Cities of Lancaster and Palmdale. Through the JPA, the Cities and the County finance their jurisdictional cost of the AVTA service.


East Los Angeles Area

The DASH Boyle Heights/East LA transit service, which provides service to the East Los Angeles area, is currently administered by the City of Los Angeles. Under a cooperative cost sharing agreement, the County and the City of Los Angeles finance their jurisdictional cost of this transit service.

Palos Verdes Peninsula

Palos Verdes Peninsula Bus Image

A JPA between the County and the Cities of Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, and Rolling Hills Estates formed the Palos Verdes Peninsula Transit Authority (PVPTA). The PVPTA currently administers the Palos Verdes Peninsula Local FixedRoute Bus and DialARide services. Through this JPA, the Cities and County finance their jurisdictional cost of the Palos Verdes Peninsula services.


Santa Clarita Valley and Surrounding Areas

Santa Clarita Transit, which currently provides commuter, local fixed-route, and dialaride services for residents of the Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding areas, is administered by the City of Santa Clarita. Under a cooperative cost sharing agreement, the County and the City of Santa Clarita finance their jurisdictional cost of these services.
