San Gabriel Valley Greenway Network Strategic Implementation Plan: Program Environmental Impact Report

GENERAL

Los Angeles County has prepared the Draft San Gabriel Valley Greenway Network Strategic Implementation Plan (Plan). The Plan integrates multiple previous planning and design efforts focusing on parks and open space, flood control, green infrastructure and water quality and transportation projects. DRAFT PROGRAM ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT (PEIR)

As part of this effort, the County of Los Angeles, through Public Works, is the Lead Agency responsible for compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and has prepared a Draft Program Environmental Impact Report (PEIR) to evaluate and inform decision makers, public agencies, and members of the public of the potential significant environmental effects resulting from implementation of the Plan.

NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY (NOA) FOR DRAFT PEIR

The County of Los Angeles has completed the Draft PEIR for the SGV Greenway Network Strategic Implementation Plan, and is soliciting comments from members of the public, organizations, and government agencies on the Draft PEIR. The Draft PEIR is available for a 45-day review period starting April 15, 2025 through May 30, 2025.

How To Submit Comments

Comments on the Draft PEIR can be submitted in writing to the physical address or e-mail address shown below. At the top of your comment, please include your name, agency, email address, telephone number, address, and subject “RE: SGV Greenway Network Implementation Plan PEIR Comments”. All written comments must be received by 5:00 p.m. (Pacific Daylight Time) on May 30, 2025.

SGV Greenway Network Strategic Implementation Plan Area

The map above shows the San Gabriel Valley Greenway Network Strategic Implementation Plan area, which includes the streams, creeks, and flood control channels in the San Gabriel Valley watershed.

The SGV Greenway Network Plan creates a process to support greenway projects all along the San Gabriel Valley watershed, from an idea to completion, with the ultimate goal of creating an interconnected network of greenways throughout the San Gabriel Valley, connecting to existing bikeways and other trails.
