LA County Trash Disposal Options for Republic Services Customers Impacted by Labor Strike - LA County Public Works

LOS ANGELES (July 16, 2025)—In response to trash collection delays caused by a solidarity labor work stoppage in Los Angeles County, temporary disposal options are now available to residents and businesses in affected areas.

To date, Republic Services has experienced as much as a three-day delay in its collection of trash, recycling, and organic waste in LA County. Customers of Republic Services in more than 20 communities across LA County now have the option of dropping off their refuse at no additional cost in strategically located dumpsters or at Republic Services facilities.

Residential customers are advised to leave their containers at the curb until they are serviced. Customers with service-related questions may contact Republic Services at (800) 299-4898 or LA County Public Works’ CleanLA hotline at (888) CLEAN-LA (1-888-253-2652).
