ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Los Angeles County Flood Control District (LACFCD) proposes a project to remove sediment from Pacoima Reservoir in order to restore flood control and water conservation capacity to the reservoir; increase the reliability of operations and safety of Pacoima Dam; and create a long term, safe, and reliable means of access to the reservoir.

LACFCD, in coordination with the United States Forest Service and the United States Army Corps of Engineers, will prepare a Joint California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) document for the proposed Pacoima Reservoir Sediment Removal Project (PRSR Project).

To learn more about the proposed PRSR Project, please review the Notice of Preparation (NOP) and Project Overview of a Joint CEQA and NEPA Document. Please click here to view project Fact Sheet. Please click here to view March NEPA/CEQA scoping presentation.

The LACFCD and federal agencies are voluntarily extending the opportunity to provide comments on the NOP from the required 30-day comment period to an extended 52-day comment period, which will begin on Monday, February 23, 2015 and will end on Thursday, April 16, 2015. Please note that the end of the NOP public comment period has been extended from April 9, 2015 to April 16, 2015.
