Project Summary
In response to a Board Motion passed in October 2023 and with support from Supervisor Kathryn Barger’s office, Public Works is developing a Corridor Traffic Safety Study on San Francisquito Canyon Road between Elizabeth Lake Road and the City of Santa Clarita boundary approximately 1,260 feet north of Copper Hill Drive in unincorporated Los Angeles County. The Corridor Traffic Safety Study will consist of traffic engineering reviews that include, but are not limited to, the feasibility of curve advisory signage, enhanced edge line striping, centerline rumble strips, and driver feedback signs on San Francisquito Canyon Road.
Public Works strives to be an excellent provider of public services to the community and strongly supports the efforts to create a more livable Los Angeles County through enhanced infrastructure. The Corridor Traffic Safety Study will identify traffic safety focus areas on San Francisquito Canyon Road and provide conceptual designs that will lead to constructable projects.
The outreach and engagement for the San Francisquito Canyon Road Corridor Traffic Safety Study will provide community members the opportunity to not only learn about the project, but also communicate their experiences, concerns, and ideas regarding traffic safety in their community.
