County Programs

In addition to the Smart Business Recycling Program, the County offers an array of programs to help businesses achieve greater sustainability by recycling more. Click on the links below to learn more about the programs that are available to your business.

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Program 

The Los Angeles County Household Hazardous and Electronic Waste (HHW/E-Waste) Collection Program offers a FREE and convenient way to responsibly dispose of items that can’t go in the regular trash. 

Construction & Demolition Image

Construction and Demolition Debris Recycling and Reuse Program

Projects requiring a construction, demolition, and/or grading permit must recycle at least 50% of the debris generated.

Los Angeles County Recycling Market Development Zone Program Icon

Los Angeles County Recycling Market Development Zone Program

This program provides business and technical assistance, product marketing, and financial assistance to businesses that manufacture a recycled-content product or process materials for recycling. Manufacturing or processing must occur within the RMDZ.

LACFRI is a county project that aims to provide resources to the public about safe methods to prevent, donate and recycle excess food, as well as support policies that divert food from landfills. Participants include several county departments, businesses, community members, and nonprofit organizations.

Industrial Waste Control Program 

Proper handling and disposal of wastewater is essential to the protection of our environment. The Industrial Waste Control Program regulates industrial waste dischargers in the unincorporated areas of the County of Los Angeles and 37 contract cities.
