County Programs
The County offers an array of programs designed to assist multi-family properties located in the Los Angeles County unincorporated areas in achieving greater sustainability through recycling. Click on the links below to learn more about programs that are available to multi-family residences.
Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program

Smart Gardening Program
The Smart Gardening program offers residents of LA County the opportunity to learn practices and techniques that conserve water and energy. Additionally, LA County offers composting, water-wise gardening, and grasscycling workshops throughout the County.
Waste Tire Recycling
Residents are encouraged to bring their used tires to our free Waste Tire Collection Events. Tires will be accepted and recycled free of charge. Don’t miss the opportunity to remove those stubborn tires in your yard, garage or community. Thousands of residents have taken advantage of this service.
Los Angeles County Food Redistribution Initiative (LACFRI)
LACFRI is a county project that aims to provide resources to the public about safe methods to prevent, donate and recycle excess food, as well as support policies that divert food from landfills. Participants include several county departments, businesses, community members, and nonprofit organizations.
