Proposed Annual Service Fee Increases for Garbage Disposal Districts

Public Works is pursuing a schedule of service fee increases beginning July 2025 for the Athens/Woodcrest/Olivita and Lennox Garbage Disposal Districts (GDDs). These increases are necessary to continue funding essential waste management services, comply with new statewide regulations, and to keep pace with rising inflation. In 2024, Public Works conducted a comprehensive Fee Study for waste management services. The Fee Study provides a detailed review of the costs to provide waste management services in these areas, and the fee structure needed to meet those costs to continue providing safe and reliable waste management services. Proposed Service Fee Increases

The proposed service fee increases would go into effect July 2025 and would be gradual over five years. New fees would be reflected as a line item on your property tax statement.
