About LA County Waterworks Districts
The Los Angeles County Waterworks Districts (LACWD) takes immense pride in its service to its customers and communities. Supplying water to approximately 260,000 people, LACWD maintains quality customer care and encourages environmentally responsible behavior. Our goal is to provide exceptional customer service, reliable water resources, and education on water-saving practices, underscoring the importance of each individual’s role in our community’s water conservation efforts.
LACWD plays a crucial role in providing water service to Kagel Canyon, Malibu, Val Verde, Acton, and the Antelope Valley. We also operate and maintain the Marina Del Rey Water System on behalf of the LA County Department of Beaches and Harbors, as well as the Rancho Los Amigos Water System on behalf of the County of LA, and manage the water quality program for the Peter J. Pitchess Honor Rancho water system. This comprehensive approach ensures a secure and reliable water supply for our communities.

TOPANGA, CA. (Jan. 10, 2025) — Los Angeles County Waterworks District No. 29, Malibu, and Las Virgenes Municipal Water District are working together to maintain continuous water service for our customers while supporting critical firefighting efforts. Despite the extraordinary demands placed on the water system by the size and intensity of the Palisades Fire, we are committed to ensuring a reliable water service.
Wildfires require significant amounts of water to protect lives, homes, and structures, which can temporarily strain the system. Our dedicated personnel are working around the clock to manage these challenges safely and effectively.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this dynamic and intense situation. We will continue collaborating with first responders to protect you and your community while maintaining essential water services.
