LA County Waterworks District 29 Capital Improvement Projects
- Malibu Branch Feeder Realignment Project along Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), between Chautauqua Blvd. and Temescal Canyon Rd. Click here for a map of the project
- The project includes installation of a new 30-inch water main to improve water supply reliability for residents and business owners. Work will begin March 21, 2022, through January 2023.
- To maintain water quality standards during construction, three water line flushing events are expected along PCH between Chautauqua Blvd. and Temescal Canyon Rd with the first scheduled for August 1, 2022. There will be 2 additional flushing events and we will provide you the exact dates as soon as they are scheduled. Water service to Waterworks customers will not be disrupted during these flushing events. Flushing events may result in lane closures along portions of PCH’s northbound number 2 lane and shoulder. These events will occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. when traffic will be least impacted.
- The District intends to capture as much water as possible during each flushing event for beneficial reuse on other projects. The remaining water will discharge into the City of LA’s Potrero Canyon Storm Drain, where the Pacific Palisades Low Flow Diversion will divert most of the water into the City’s sewer collection system. Construction of the new water line is anticipated to be completed in January 2023.
- For project related questions, contact Public Works Construction Supervisor Voltaire Llana, at (626) 238-3179, Monday – Friday, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or email vllana@dpw.lacounty.gov. Refer to Project ID: WWD2900062, Malibu Branch Feeder Realignment Project.
